What Are the Historical & Cultural Significances of Do Dham Yatra?
The four holy pillars of Hinduism, namely Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, are also referred to as ‘Char Dham,’ named by the greatest scholar of Hindu religion, Adi Shankaracharya. These four sanctuaries located in different districts of Uttarakhand add to the grace of the state. In Hindu mythology, a tour of these four revered places is regarded as a road to Moksha.
